Donate Food and Hygiene Supplies

Donations of canned meats, beans, fruits, vegetables, peanut butter, dried milk, pasta, rice, and cereal are always needed. Baby food and baby formula are also huge needs. Just as they get stocked on the shelves, they go right out. Also, donations of small shampoos, conditioners, soap, toothbrushes, razors, and shaving cream help those living on the streets and those just making ends meet. Donations can be brought to our location, 1 NW 33rd Terrace in Ft. Lauderdale, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. (Special arrangements can be made for Sunday deliveries.)

Should you donate cash or food to The Cooperative Feeding Program?

Many groups organizing a food drive prefer the connectedness they feel by donating, weighing, and delivering actual food items to The Cooperative Feeding Program. To be sure, food drives help us to meet the needs of hungry people. But for if your group wants to help but is short on time and volunteers, there are some very solid reasons to consider a cash drive instead of a food drive.

For your donors:
  • It is easier to write a check than to remember to bring your non-perishables to the donation box or collection point.

  • It is less labor-intensive. Cash is much easier to transport to our Emergency Pantry than cans and boxes of food or, easier still, an online donation can be made with a credit card
For The Cooperative Feeding Program's Emergency Pantry:
  • Cash and online donations allow us to buy food items we do not often receive as donations, including vegetables, food for ethnic groups or special dietary needs.

  • Cash donations may be used to purchase food in bulk at a much lower cost per pound than what is available to the average consumer.

  • If we do not receive cash donations then we are unable to save on bulk purchases.

  • Cash doesn't dent, spoil, or expire!
But please don't forget that whatever means you choose to help feed the hungry, The Cooperative Feeding Program is VERY grateful. If you have any questions, please contact Scott at (954) 792-2328 or Scott@FeedingBroward.org
